Product information "Morey Saint Denis "Les Ruchots" 1er Cru 2019"
“Ruchots” refers to a place with boulders called “roiches” in the Burgundian dialect.
Terroir
The vineyards face east-southeast at an altitude of 260m (850 feet), with soils of limestone, marl, gravel and red-silt. Les Ruchots are situated in the southern part of the village, on the border of Chambolle-Musigny, below Clos de Tart and Bonnes Mares. This parcel, protected from cold winds, benefits from a micro-climate which encourages ripeness. These vines produce many small berries that enhance the balance of the wine.
Viticulture, vinification, barrel aging
From the vineyard to the winery
, each operation is adapted to the
vintage to make the best wines possible and to fully express the
parcels’ terroir. 33% of new oak barrels are used for the aging process.
Tasting notes
Color: ruby to garnet.
Nose: aromas of red berries with jammy notes.
Balanced, this wine is concentrated, full, fat and round.
This wine pairs wonderfully with grilled meat or lighter meat dishes. In riper vintages, try it with chocolate desserts. It is best served between 14° to 16°C. The best vintages are ideally aged from 5 to 7 years to fully appreciate the wine.
